Executive

The local union executive President (Michael Ferns), Vice-President (Dajuan Dilworth), Recording Secretary (Gary Chalmers) and Secretary-Treasurer (Jarrett Kuebler) are
responsible for the leadership and administration of the local.

The Executive boards roll is to advance the interests of the local union members, and conducting the monthly meetings. Your 550 Executive is working hard at
advancing the interests of their membership.

The local union executive finds its terms of reference in: Constitution, local union by-laws, Federal and Provincial Labour laws, and the local union by-laws.

  • Maintains are encourages communication with members

  • Monthly Signature on finical documents prior to cheques distribution
  • Oversee all committees
  • Pension
  • Wellness
Vice President
  • Provides support to the Local Lodge President
  • Outlined in bylaws and constitution
  • All duties of the President when not available
Recording Secretary
  • Outlined in bylaws and constitution
  • Documentation for all meetings
  • Copies of originals and electronic copies saved
  • Date and sign all original documents
  • Monthly Signature on finical documents prior to cheques distribution
  • Special requests
  • Mail
  • Cheque request form
  • Communication (President, Vice President, Secretary Treasure)
  • Communication (Chief of Staff, DBR, assistant DBR)
  • Motions specific info (example: economy flight, no car rental)
  • Yearly motions (example: BC Fed per capita, NWDLC per capita)
  • Elections

Secretary-Treasurer
  • Outlined in bylaws and constitution
  • Responsible for financial documents
  • Books updated (monthly)

  • Present financials at meetings
  • Cheques distributed only after President and Recording Secretary sign off
